The kumbha is believed to have been displaced by a pralaya (dissolution of the universe) effected by God Shiva’s arrow and ultimately came to rest at the spot where the town of Kumbakonam now stands. The straight position of Kumbha or Kalasha after fall down the position changed and called in Tamil as “konam” / Corner. Kumbam + Konam = Kumbakonam (“Pot’s Corner”) In the Logo surrounding signs/Symbols describes all Navagragha temples. Once devotees completing worship of all kumbakonam surrounding temples including Navagraha’s, the chakras (mentioned Chakra colours) of body & soul will step-up from Muladhara to Sahasrara then will reach jothi of motcha.
